the pickup

2008

Created in 2008 in collaboration with artist/curator Eleanor E. Eubanks, The Pickup was a collection of handkerchiefs placed throughout Lower Manhattan in New York City, all embroidered by hand with personal narratives contributed by New Yorkers. Each piece was left in close proximity to where each event took place, thereby revealing hidden histories of the city's buildings, sidewalks, subways and parks.

This project was presented as part of New York City-based psycho-geography festival, Conflux 2008.
